I recently purchased this Belkin 802.11g Wireless PCI Card for my new house network, and since then I've experienced a few system lockups. I can move the mouse, but I can't CTRL-ALT-DEL or use the start menu, and have to manually reboot.

Has anyone experienced problems with either this card or something similar?

Not had trouble with that particular card but have had trouble with other Belkin cards and a few of their routers. Just given up buying Belkin kit now, it's normally substandard compared to other stuff on the market.

Cheers Johnny - do you think the problems are directly related to the card? I think I'll ask for an RMA and get a trusty old Netgear if possible then.

Just got my RMA confirmed by a nice chap from OcUK, I should have gone with Netgear to begin with, honestly can't say why I didn't, this is the first time I've ever bought Belkin!

I have been using a belkin 54MB wireless NIC for about two months now. I'm very unimpressed with my Belkin software. As I type this the Belkin Wireless Networking utility is telling me that I have no connection to the internet. It obviously has no idea about the existence of my non-belkin router.

The graphics on it are nice and pretty though - so I suppose that alright then!

This make me wonder about the quality of the drivers for the network card. There are a load of options in the driver for the network card that I haven't even started to try to understand. I might get more stability if I messed with these but in all likelihood I would just make it worse.

And OP, yes I get a lockup such as yours once every few days but in fairness the system has been running constantly for those few days with EvE online ticking away in background and me using internet/word/excel and a few other bits and pieces a lot too. I usually get a lockup in something like EvE online at a busy moment, but I stress rarely at not at every busy moment.
