We have a BT Home Hub V2 which has been working perfectly for months.
Yesterday I installed an Edimax N300 Wireless Range Extender as the signal is weak on one side of the house.

Now when the Edimax unit works it works brilliantly - creating a secondary network with a new SSID - and the signal strength is more powerful than the actual BT Home Hub. When the Edimax fails to work devices still connect but are assigned an IP address of the 169.xxx.xxx.xxx format and not 192.168.1.x

However since installing it my devices near to the BT Home Hub and using the original wireless network keep disconnecting and failing to connect wirelessly intermittently. They might connect to the wireless for 10-15 minutes then disconnect and stay disconnected for another 10 minutes failing to obtain an IP address or saying 'connection timeout.'

All LAN devices work absolutely fine. PS3 is connected to Hub via Ethernet (as is laptop in my room) and these devices are not disrupted in the same way all the other wireless devices are.

Any ideas what might be going on here? Is it possible the two wireless devices are confusing the devices. Could a possible solution be manually assigning IP addresses to ALL the devices in the house - not an option I want to take unless necessary though.

Many Thanks,
