I am seriously tempted with one of these beasties, but I hope to run it on its side!

Can anyone see any problems with this?

I see two very minor issues:

1) The castors go in the bottom piece, which will now be the left side, so I'll need to drill holes in the right side (which is now the bottom!) to use them.

2) CD Drive(s) will be vertical. Again, a minor issue.

Ever since running my system in an open desktop case, I can't go back to a normal upright case, and even a Yeong Yang server cube was too small.

Ooh........

Just got this from Mountainmods:

Jimbo,

You might be interested to know we have a version much like you are
requesting already made. It is call the U2-UFO Horizon series. The MB tray
is mounted horizontally on the top portion of the case and sits on a
bracket.

Good work fella.

Nice edit on the pic btw ;)

You're not going the whole way with the lack of deskspace though! (TFT, pah!) ;)

I'm going to run a Mountainmods with a 22" CRT for severe desk-strain :D

:D Saved me a roasting by a Mod, they be big and I be afraid of em :p

Sneeked the case in under the 'Need It' clause, a big CRT = Expensive Divorce ;)

Aii had one for ages, one of the earliest revisions iirc. Great cases, so much room to work with, ideal for well pretty much anything modding or extreme cooling related. gl :)

And M@rt, sweet setup there!
