I hope someone can advise me, as I was just about to buy a Zalman CPU Cooler - either the CNPS8700 or CNPS9500A.

However, I am not sure that the supplied plastic bracket will fit my motherboard..? I have an Asus P5KPL-AM. Below is a link showing the small obsticles near the CPU socket (v similar motherboard)... do you think these will pose a problem to the mounting?

Any help would be really appreciated :D

The Zalman s775 bracket should fit fine - it's designed to go over the caps and chokes around around the cpu.
But at that price point get the sunbeam or spend a few quid more a TRUE (AM2 version and a s775 bolt through kit)

Thanks for this. I have checked, checked and checked again all of the cooler dimensions.

Just can't find anything for the bracket itself!!! Hence the original post - looking for people with previous experience.

It's the same bracket as there waterblocks / HSF and it almost completely universal for s775 mobo's
Some board can have problems with the back plate (but its not many)

I've had a CPNS9500 on my P5Q-P45 board with no clearance issues at all. I can't speak for the P5K though.

My temps are a lot better now with a Scythe Ninja fitted, which is much quieter as well. My board would only run the Zalman at full speed, which makes it quite noisy.
