If any one has an asus pch-dl and the driver cd to go with it would you be able to zip up the drivers from the cd for the onboard promise sata contoller and email them to me please.

email keithdrayton at f2s . com

thank you

Yes i have tryed the asus site but they download as a exe file that insists on unpacking them to a floppy disk, as i dont have a floppy disk or drive in the house it makes it a bit difficult to use them,
i think i have sorted it now thought thanks, had to pop to my parents this afternoon and they do still have a floppy drive so downloaded/unpacked to disk then emailed home, just need to make sure they install correctly now.

Well, I've e-mailed the drivers as a zip file anyway, but you're going to struggle to do the install as, as far as I know W2K, WXP, Svr2K abd Svr2K3 use a floppy as *** device to load the RAID drivers from, otherwise they won't recognise the array for install purposes.

If you know differently, then I'd love to know as I still carry a floppy, complete with molex to floppy power connector with me to do hardware calls, solely for this purpose.

The onboard intel chip does not need the drivers to do a windows install and that is were my c drive is located, but i needed to add a 3rd drive which means the promise controller is needed which untill now has been disabled in the bios as i was not using it,
as the driver install is from within an existing windows install it can do it from the c drive, and the files i emailled from my parents have worked fine,
as for neededing a floppy when installing at the f6 prompt yes that is the only way i know of doing it,

again thanks any way for the email. i should have been clearer in my first post as to what i was exactly after.

Keith
