As per title really how do these chips compare? This system is running an opty OC'd to 2.9Ghz in a bfg vnf4u mobo and the bits and pieces for the new one based around the E6300 in a PW5 before moving to E6600 in a couple of weeks should arrive tomorrow.
How does the performance of these 2 chips compare say when both are OC'd to 2.9? I dont mean the multi tasking, i'm taking that for granted that i'm going to see significant boosts in that aspect. I'm talking about normal day to day apps, the speed of the machine and gaming (conroe rig will have an x1800xt whereas the opty rig has a 7900gt but they can be swapped around if i see the need).
Unfortunately anadtech dont seem to have a comparism chart for the conroes yet so i'll need to rely on word of mouth till all the bits arrive and i can see for myself.
