I'm canceling my VM broadband. Becuase my packet loss is huge from 3pm onwards. BE doesn't operate in my area. Plusnet are very tempting, mainly for being able to go straight onto a rolling contract for both line-rental and broadband.
I want to use it for gaming, does anyone have any problems with it? Im in the LS6 area of Leeds.

Yes, I moved from virgin (exactly the same reason as you, massive pings and packet loss). I've got the pro package which is a prioritised connection and it has been great, rock solid 30ms pings at any time of the day.

I don't know about the other packages and remember a lot of it depends on your adsl line. I've found them quick to respond to tickets and helpful on the phone as well.

Best decision I ever made.

I've been on Plus for six years or so. If I wasn't happy I'd have gone elsewhere. I'm on an ancient package that probably costs more than necessary but it's the one that gives the most web space and allegedly low contention ratio.

Same here.

Use them for the broadband connection at the office too.

I wouldn't touch 'em with a bargepole. Nasty traffic shaping which can affect new games if they haven't been profiled. Certain games such as OpFlash 2 are classed as P2P and can't be enjoyed without a 3000 ping. :)

IDNet for the win.

Not sure what they are like now, but historically (Pre BT takeover) I would never recommend even to my worst enemy.

They started out great in 2003, but within 3 years they got too big and then all the problems started - the spam issues, the email cluster being lost - twice!, problems with faulty gateways, problems with billing. I left them in 2006.
