Anyone have any experience of using mobile internet dongles in Europe?

My work situation at the moment means I can be pretty much anywhere so am considering going to Germany for a while.

One thing I definitely need though is stable internet. Don't want to be relying on wifi.

Is it easy for a non-German to buy a pay as you go dongle?

Was looking at UK dongles and three offer £15 a month pay as you go with a 10GB limit. Would be hoping to get something similar over there.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep had a look. About £3 a MB for UK ones.

Or with BT:

"Like 3, you'll have to unlock your BT mobile broadband dongle for it to work outside of the UK. Which is a good thing, as you're looking at a terrifying £7.70 per MB data bill no matter where you go. BT appears to be the only provider which hasn't updated its pricing and there's almost no information about roaming or mobile broadband in general on its site."

OUTRAGEOUS!!!!
