Hi there,

A friend of mine was asking a question on how he can stop an attacked (which is currently happening to his shop) from damaging his business.

The first though that came to mind was to setup a system which works much like a school network or computers which bootup from a server.

I.e. once a user is logged on and there time expires, the computer 'restores' a backup from the server, thus wiping any programs, webpages, cache which were on there.

Can anyone point me to anything that can i suggest to him to read on?

Also any particular software which can created timer/logon system - i.e. to allow users to see how long they have left of there sesson - and extend it if need be.

Basically i think it would be best to rebuild his system from ground up, so any information would be great.

thank you

don't let anybody install anything.

pre install applications which people might use.

MSN, skype etc

much simpler.

People will hate being limited. With Deepfreeze, you install it. Disable it. Install all your applications etc as a admin. Set a password. Re-enable it. Now everytime the PC restarts it'll be at the same as it was in the start. This includes Trojans, viruses.. the lot. Awesome Software

Not entirely sure what that means, the machines becoming infected as others have suggested?

Yes sandboxing is a very good idea, and deepfreeze can do that, there is software that can bypass it though so preventing that is also a good idea.

This will stop any changes in the Host OS but there are other things to consider i.e disabling/changing boot order so that it doesn't boot from CD, passwording the BIOS, physically locking the case.

Thanks guys i've looked at deepfreeze and that seems like the best option.

I also thought that Provisio, to use to manage the payments and timers of each user.

Both of them seems like a good combination to use?
