Anyone have any interesting OCD?

I don't really have any real OCD type behaviours (and trust me I've been in hospital with people with it) but I do like my towels fold in 3rds and have refold ones my brother has done wrong before. It is mostly because they fit right in the airing cupboard in 3rds but have to be all messy if not folded the right way.

I unlikely most of you would choose an odd over an even for most things.

-The kettle can't be boiled unless it's full to the brim. If we start boiling a cup full then turn our backs he will sneak in and fill it and return to boil. (madness)

Jesus! He won't want my ECO kettle that I have. It's designed to boil by x number of cups you require to save energy.

I don't really have any weird OCD myself. Just the usual ones where I have to check that I've locked my front door, usual paranoia stuff like that.

As an electrical engineer, it boggles my mind how people can think any empty socket switched on could use any power.

Also random fact, the British plug is widely regarded as the safest type, the ground prong is required to be plugged in to move the covers away from the live and neutral. Poking your fingers in to one would not result in a shock.

People are silly, that's why. I can't stand people who go out and buy the safety plugs when small children are around because all they do is make the situation worse.

My gf used to smell her phone every time she picked it up to read a text or answer a call. Just a quick sniff, but it was weird. I used to text her "sniff" just to wind her up. When she got a touchscreen she stopped for some reason though. Now she just checks locked doors 3 times which is pretty boring OCD.

That one got me, hahahaha!

I have a couple. I hate cluttered desktops and have my PC set up the WAY I like it, which makes it such a task when reformatting because I have to set it all up the way I like it again.
Switches must be turned off if nothings in them.
I always leave early thinking I'm going to be late, but no, I'm usually early and if I'm late it reaaally annoys me.
I open bacon packets a certain way... lol I'll stop now. :D

The only OCD thing I had was filling up with petrol to the exact figure eg £30 but that stopped a couple of years ago because it's damn near impossible to do it.
I now play the 'Get to £29.98, close my eyes, pull the trigger and see how close you get' game.

Have any of you ever just decided to stop doing it?
What would happen, would you die, get aids?

I have to wiggle my toes every time I pass a lamppost when in a vehicle. The foot I wiggle my toes on corresponds to the side of the road the lamppost is on.

No way! As a passenger I used to use my toes to pretend I hurdled each lamp post we drove by! I often draw around things with my toes (in my head) when I'm lounging about. Like the ooutline of the tv or fireplace etc lol. Mental :-D

I can't leave a bed unmade. If I am round a friends and I see their bed is unmade, I have to make it.

Weird.

I have to check the front door is closed properly... sometimes glancing back even if I know I've already tried to firmly push it after closing it.

Power sockets are another one... I have to turn them off even if there is no plug in it. I know it doesn't make any difference but it doesn't look right.

Some of my bedrooms have two lightswitches for the same light. It's so you can turn them off without getting out of bed. So it's possible to end up with the switches reversed so that flicked up is on, etc. But I have to make sure they are lined up the normal way so it looks neat.

hmm i get the urge to have the light switches all the same too and we have two for one light so i hate it when someone mixes them up and i get the urge to have both matching.

I hate cooking oil and greasy smells and odours on my skin and clothes. This is the most destructive ocd's i have as if i cook for myself at say 12am i have to have a good scrub to get the oilyness off my body/face/hair.If i need to cook at 3pm and 9pm i need another two baths :/

It never used to be like this i remember dating and making late night food in the deep fat fryer and going to bed and sleeping soundly but since ive got older this OCD has sprung out of no where.I like to keep myself really clean and fresh and prefer to get the oilyness feeling off my back etc in the shower too so i would get urges for someone to literally scrub my back and exfoliate the skin for me :D
