Anyone have any Yamaha "MusicCast" speakers?

I have a Yamaha Amp which has MusicCast built into it, our speaker we use in the kitchen keeps dying, so I am debating investing in the MusicCast system instead of Sonos.

Has anyone got any of these speakers?

Looking at the WX030 for the kitchen, then may get more if it works well for different rooms.

Opinions?

I have a WX010 in the kitchen and it’s great. Sounds pretty good and works perfect. I generally just use it with my iPad and Apple Music over WiFi but have occasionally linked it to my 2700 sound bar and played over both which works well too. The sound is far better than expected for the size.

Cheers for that, I think we will mainly link it to our iPad in the kitchen, do you know if it will play the sound from the normal TV programs if the amp is when we use MusicCast? Or do you have to be in a MusicCast mode?

Was thinking about an easy way to add extra speakers to my surround sound set up.

Yes but I think it just mirrors the main sound. Not sure if they can be used as surround speakers as such.

You can link the speakers up and play the same content through them. The App allows you to configure the speakers how you want really.

Brill ok, I know I can set up different zones also, so ill have to grab one and see what its like

I’d be interested to hear how you get on with these-I’ve bought the Sonos One to try out the whole wi-fi audio thing but the MusicCast stuff definitely appealed to me when reading up on it.

Just been reading reviews, apparently the Yamaha WX030 is on par with the Sonos Play 3....... with a price tag of £149.99 definitely interested.

I will try grabbing one tomorrow.........or RicherSounds may be able to do a comparison in their shop actually!
