A member of staff has Starlink, the way our VPN works, the user keeps getting designated a local IP that matches our fileserver on VPN. I want to connect to their Starlink router and manually reserve an IP that won't cause issues.

Anyone got a quick insight on doing this on whatever router Starlink provide? I'll be doing it remotely on the laptop in question.

DHCP is locked down to 192.168.1.0/24; only way (i haven't played with the Business service so that maybe different) around it is to put it into 'bypass' mode (you need an ethernet adaptor for it) and use your own router.

It's fine that it's locked to that range, can you set reservation within that range for certain devices by Mac address?

What brand is the router that does the DHCP?

Unless they've added the feature with the Gen 2 router, then it's locked down. As said, you'll need to bypass the Starlink router.
And the included router, Gen 1 any way, seems to be Starlink's own.

Static IP for the local device or setting reservation on the VPN host are other possible options.
