Dads looking for a new telly and I think this looks awesome for the price. That’s a huge discount. Does anyone have any experience with it?

Always worth checking what HUKD thinks of a "deal". Rated well on there, but main issue being commented on is that it is not an Android Sony TV.

Thanks. Android really don’t bother him. He’s 68 and a bit of a technical dinosaur. Teaching him how to use a sky box was like trying to teach a chuckle brother astrophysics.

That's fair enough, but presumably you'd be setting it up for him? I have a non-Android Sony Bravia, and the app selection is dire. No All4, no 5OD, no ITV player. It has Netflix, Amazon, iPlayer and Plex. The rest is just nonsense.

Wouldn't be buying a Sony TV that isn't Android now, just for the lack of decent apps available.

If you don't mind sacrificing 5", then go for a Hisense H50N6800 - 50" LED Smart TV - 4K UltraHD at £550, otherwise could get the 55" for £650. If you've never ordered from very before then can bring them down to £495 & £585.

Been a long time panny fan but bought a 43" 8005 for the bedroom on black Friday. Sound isn't the greatest but perfectly acceptable after a bit of eq but picture is excellent. All menus etc very easy to navigate. Thumbs up for Sony.
