Anyone having speed issues with BT 8mb?!

Hi all, just wondering whether anyone else is experiencing download speed issues with BT 8mb broadband?!

I used to get 600k download speeds easily but I can't seem to get anything over 150k at the moment (I have tried various servers from different websites)

I just ran a speed test and got this:



This seems identical to what I was getting before (ie around the 6meg mark)

but downloads just seem to be naff.

Is anyone else experiencing this?!

Yeah, same here. My downloads hover around 40kb/s but it varies a lot between 250kb/s and 35kb/s... very annoying.

Hows your actual connection out of interest?!

I notice by your sig you play eve online do you find that laggy or is it just your downloads?!

it could be two things i can think of, the line might have too much noise, there might be a lot of people online or your speed is being used up by something else, (game etc)

My connection seems pretty good, no lag in eve (any lag is server-side) and it's fine playing CS:S too... its just slow on downloads and is very annoying!

And this is with no other applications running in the background either... maybe it's bt-imposed?

What kind of downloads? They may be throttling p2p.

game patches (painfully slow)... any other things, like streaming, download media files, and the like is fast (250kb/s). Anything else is 40kb/s. It is faster with download accelerators but they screw up the files.

Is this bt's fault?
