In the past week or so Steam has been really screwy, its takign ages to load and its also not closing down properly.

I have somethign called gameOverlay.exe32 attributed to steam its 30mb as a process, i never ever remember this from before.

Virus scan says nothing. Googled it and its legit, its hanging all the time really screwing the thing up, i have to ctr alt del to shut the damn thing off.

Ive been on civ 5 a fair amount and then bam its like this... Really cba to install the bloody thing again so soon... but i guess. i have to ?

My Steam has become really unresponsive since this L4D update a few days ago. Launching games occasionally locked up steam. The download rate is extremely low for all recent updates (TF2, CS, DOD, Garrysmod) and if I even attempt to pause them or try and resume them Steam throws a wobbler and I can only end it via Task Manager.

Tonight I've let them all complete, which took about 4 hours and all seems well now.

Same. Every time I restart my system Steam loses something from Civ 5 so when I try to run it, it just crashes Steam totally. I have to verify integrity and wait for it to slowly download the 10.4MB file.

Generally slow to respond and randomly crashes on exit from Civ 5 also.
