anyone help to sort out the DG834G [v3]

seems i am having an epic fail of an evening

put on the DGteam firmware as suggested by a friend
i was told that i could go into advanced DSL settings and play with the SNR slider until i reduced some noise off my line

i have looked into the new firmware and cannot find any of this

also, it seems that my connection is not working correctly [i have a backup profile]
but i would like to see if i can get this tweaked

basically, since i put the new firmware on i am still getting my usual stats

[not great i know, i do live in the middle of nowhere]

all speedtests i have done have shown a promising 1800+kbps rate

however, download speeds are non existant, i am having intermittant disconnects every ten minutes and pages are taking ages to load

i cant access any online services such as Steam etc

whats going on? can anyone help me with this?

I only know of DMT tool for tweaking SNR. And that worked with Broadcom chipset version of the DG834G that was v4. Unless a newer version now works with Texas Instrument AR7 chipset.

A quick guide about using it is at Kitz and latest version is available directly off a German site

You were told wrong then. It's not affecting the line at all, just reducing the minimum SNR margin that the modem will connect at.
The end effect is that your connection will be faster but it will also be more unstable and possibly lose more frames, which in turn means packet loss.

If you're getting a lot of disconnections, you want to turn the SNR margin slider up. It'll make your connection slower but it should be more stable.

ah right - the thing is i dont have an SNR slider
in fact - my current connection stats are showing massive improvements in DL speeds, but my upload speed has been reduced to 32Kbps

my internet feels slow and unresponsive, pages are taking forever to load and everything is just generally rubbish

at least it was stable before this firmware went on it

i might just go back to the official one

I noticed this as well when I flashed my DG834G V3 with the DGTeam firmware and it did not have the SNR slider at all, Never found out to why it didn't though. Also DMT Tool is not compatiable with the DG834G V3 router either because of the chipset and the only DG834G router DMT tool works on is the DG834G v4 as it has the broadcom chipset.

Am fairly sure you need the Broadcom chipset for the snr slider to show and i don`t think the V3 has the broadcom chipset in it
The Gt model has(or at least the one i have has)
