My brother brought a 6870 a while back and it worked fine and then he updated the drivers and it no longer works, once the new drivers are installed it doesn't load the screen, it just stays black. And I'm wondering if there is anything that we could change or do to make it work?

A quick update, the card was taken apart, cleaned and replaced the thermal paste, and it still doesn't seem to want to work, it sort of works, and then as soon as you update the drivers it seems to play up and the screen gets those lines in it, and has now decided just before the computer gets into the desktop screen, the screen turns blue and doesn't load, so just wondering whether anyone knows what it is, or if it's a card that's gone to cardheaven?
