After putting a lot of hours into world of tanks I had that annoying itch to start something historic in the table top world. I then found that Flames of War had a starter set so I got to painting up some Germans and Brits. The minitures are fantastic and being historic theres a lot to choose from, the scale is 15mm (or 1/100) meaning each guy comes up to the knee of a Space Marine.

Here is my current Grenadier company this consists of:

3 Grenadier Platoons
Pak40 Team
3x Stug IIIs
5x Panzer IV H
1 HMG Platoon
2x King Tigers (wip)

And the first Tiger II in progress

Looking good. I also play some flames of war, personally I love the panzer lehr division, though I have a list from the old fortress europe book, not sure how it has changed with the latest edition..?

not playing with any artillery?

Edit: loving the king tiger :D:D

Here's my 7th armoured division from the now defunct villers bocage book, I haven't played a 3rd edition game but flames of war is pretty sweet on an 8x6' board with plenty of room to move around and get the best out of all elements of the various armies.

It's a full armoured division sans the recovery vehicle for the hq.

I've also got a panzer lehr army tucked away somewhere and I'm working on a panzer lehr force in 20mm for another system but they're not very far along

Only had a handful of games so far using the Overlord/Atlantik wall books with my brother inlaw.

Will be going to our local gaming club over the summer for more games.

I will probably find I need arty very much then lol. My list is 1960 pts at the moment. what is the normal pts limit on games? I am guess 2000 is this right?

Ive played both 1500 and 2000 points. Arty is horrendous if used well, you def need some. And the models are awesome ;)

how does atlantik wall compare to fortress europe? Any major changes?

Well what started as a king tiger to support my grenadiers has suddenly turned into the making of the 503rd Heavy Panzer Division lol.

Some updated photos and more tigers added :)

Im finding this the main problem as well. Theres a club in London which plays it (Darksphere). I may well have to go down and have a go :D

I get to Essex every 5 to 6 weeks and the journey to London is quick, just I don't really have time to play when there though. Nowhere in the northeast seems to have anything going on.

Just a heads up, Plastic Soldier Company are currently having a 25% off sale for the rest of the week. Not on everything but there's still a good choice. Just bagged myself a box of shermans, company of british infantry and box of half tracks for £45

I've literally just picked up the Open Fire box set. I'm a little disappointed that I can't expand on it at all with buying one of the other books but hey ho.

Been itching to get back into a small scale game since I lost Epic years ago...

I'm thining I may put units together to follow my grandfather's carrer, so Norway, North Africa, Italy... :D
