Supra ventricular tachycardia.

I have recently developed this and apparently it's quite common. Got an episode last night. Sitting at my desk when all of a sudden my heart starts racing about 120 bpm. Uncomfortable but not distressing.

After laying on the bed for about an hour, I get a palpitation and it goes back to normal.

Got docs this week. Apparently there's a procedure you can undergo to correct the problem. It sounds quite futuristic. Cryo-Ablation. Anyone had it?

Nothing to do with the 4 litres of Coca Cola you chugged during the day then? :D

Joking aside, sounds unpleasant. Nothing worse than palpitations.

I had (at least I haven't for years) SVT. I had to wear one of those monitors for a week. Doctors talked about the freezing of the nerve in the neck that causes this. Interestingly it stopped a couple of years ago.

Horrible feeling but at least once you know what it is the feeling is a little less panic inducing.

Yes the first time I was calling 999 straight away. Some may feel thats an overreaction but when it's your heart you tend to take action a little quicker. Second time though, I just relaxed safe in the knowledge that it will go away.

I've suffered from ectopics in one form or another for the past 10 years.

I dont suffer from SVT per-se, but do get runs of SV ectopics. Not fast enough to be classed as a tachycardia, but still unplesent.

I've had a couple of brief isolated bouts of NSVT too, which is equally unplesant :(

I was told its just 'one of those things' as you probably will be. Doesn't make it any less frightening. I've always found it very easy to be rational about it all when it isn't happening, but when it does, all that goes out the window! :(

I experience something, not similar but also very strange, I'll be sitting at my desk and all of a sudden my neck will twist to the right, making my neck hurt, it's almost like playing a game on an underspec'd machine, as if I just missed a few frames of my life lol.

Not sure if it's a twitch or due the constant intake of Diet Coke lol

That can be a form of tourette's you know.

Lol awesome, i don't swear when it happens though, I put it down to too much caffine, because it seems not to happen if I switch to caffine free diet coke for a week
