Anyone here using a Raptor P1 Gaming Mouse Mat with an optical mouse?

I bought the Raptor P1 Gaming Mouse Mat to go with my MS optical mouse but the mouse has problems working on the surface. The only bit it wokrs on is the logo.

Is there a way to possibly 'tune' the mouse so it will work on this pad?
