My current shoes i have now that are now knacked because after 2 years of wearing them everywhere and since i got my licence they have really decided to kick the bucket for some reason

So since i do a lot of driving im thinking about getting some driving shoes so its even more comfortable when i drive.

The shoes im thinking about getting are these:

Can they be worn casually aswell?
I only want one pair of shoes to wear around and not need to change every time i get out the car :p

I've got a pair of old shoes that I always prefer to wear driving, the pedals are quite close together in my car and it's good to feel that everything is 'just right'

Any soft trainers work nicely for me. Especially if they have a rounded heel and thin, grippy sole. Puma make some good ones. this sort of thing, but they do loads of different colours.

Maybe if you are regularly using a single seat "Formula" car, but not really for driving to the the shops and to and from work in.

Got a mental picture of this guy getting out of his car at the office wearing a nice smart suit an these:

Puma Speedcats for me. Heels slip nicely on the carpet when you're pretty much flat. Not so good on normal, upright cars. Bargain at £20 though.

I remember seeing a pair of driving 'slippers' in the Ferrari store in Maranello, for an obscene number of Euros, which looked like they'd be fun to drive in.

I;ve always found Adidas Tuscany to be really good for driving in, nice and thin at the front and you get really good pedal feel.

You dont look like an idiot in them either.

Best driving shoes for me are the ones i have on when i get in the car.

Do people really feel they're neccessary? I mean i happily send my car on thru' the lanes, and NEVER consider there to be a problem with my shoes - even whopping cat boots dont hinder me overly :/

The pedals in my Elise are a bit too close for comfort for my leather soled loafers, even my Reebok trainers are a little too wide. The Pumas are perfect. I can easily drive the car in any of the above, but if I want to drive it 'properly' it's hard to do in anything but the Pumas.

I had some of the original Sparco/Puma Speedcats and they were ace. Sadly they're long gone now, and the replacement Speedcats aren't quite as good. I bought a pair of Replicats, which are similar but a bit more 'normal' and they do the trick. :)

Seen some really tasty new Sparco trainers though, they really look good! Only about £40 as well, so when these die I know what I'll be having next :D

really considering some of those Piloti ones, they look ok enough to pass as normal shoes at the office

i have size 13 feet, i have a specific pair of shoes that i wear in the car, if i use normal shoes i have problems with catching pedals when i don't mean to

Whatever footwear I have to be wearing that day, be that Trainers, "Smart" trainers, Shoes, or even wellies!

Doesn't really bother me, I can wear anything remotely normal on my feet to drive.

My pedals are so close together I have to ub my trainer on the speaker pod in the footwell when using the throttle or I clip the brake, same with the clutch and hte dead pedal.

My pumas are a dream to drive in but I never deliberatly wear any shoes to drive in.

(not that color but you know the ones)
