I've been offered a possible role in FX trading. A complete difference from what I'm doing at the moment (joys of networking). Would mean a temporary dip in income at the start but looking at the end of the payscale it seems pretty sweet.

What's the exits like on this career? Anyone got some good insights into the day to day? My maths is alright but I'm guessing I better get damn good at probability & mental maths..

My research skills are pretty decent.

Kind of curious as I'm looking for a change in life. My work atm is interesting and I've progressed well (with a good path ahead), but I've got itchy feet. Any pros and cons?

I traded futures for a bit at a prop firm... but you're not being very specific in your post - glorified salespeople at spread betting firms/bucket shops are called 'traders' as are sales people working at small FX brokerages dealing with small companies and people wanting to buy holiday homes etc..

A lot of FX trading at banks ought to be pretty much automated - presumably, unless you're market making FX options or babysitting some algo you'd be a sales trader?
