If so, what make / model.

Do you use it much - where do you use such a thing ? How did you convince people you weren't just a lunatic and weren't about to go running around town with a weapong that could basically go through two people with one shot (and no licence)

Been thinking of buying a decent enough one, and joining a local archery club (that also has a crossbow night) But am wondering if it's just one of those thing you buy and never actually use after the initial outlay & couple of weeks of drooling over it.

No, I do have a recurve bow though. Poundage is considerably less than a crossbow but I still wouldn't want to be at the business end of one!

If you're thinking about joining an archery club, then why not do archery? I use a compound bow, which if you're interested in crossbows would probably be up your street.

My friend bought one just to see what they are like. Shot a few trees in his garden then concluded that they should be licensed.

Lol. But it's true!

When I was a kid, I remember when my friend constructed one out of something I can't remember :o. Not Meccano, but a sort of plastic alternative, where plastic rods were joined together + an elastic band, or few of them. But anyway, this thing was insane. It shot through numerous, thick cardboard boxes, stacked inside each other, etc.

I've seen a couple of crossbow threads, recently... have people been watching The Walking Dead? ;)

Knex? There are websites pretty much dedicated to making guns out of this stuff.

You haven't lived unless you've created a crossbow out of Lego and fired super sharp pencils from it... Every boy reaches that stage in his Lego education at some point :p

And every sister loses their depth perception

Personally dont know many Archery Clubs that accept Crossbows - pretty sure the bolts they use tend to destroy targets compared to alu/carbon arrows Recurve/Compounds use - also unaware if there are any competitions too that cater for them...

Best way to regularly use a Crossbow though would be attached to a Club I guess though - seems to be more for fun than an actual sport - tempted myself when I next go to replace my limbs...

ps3ud0
