RMT SP1 is now available! Anyone Incorporated SP 1 into a copy of Vista. If so what software should one use?

it can't be done. there is no method at all for the end user to it. microsoft have sp1 ready isos so they can make them -we can't. :p

I have been told that if you installed the RC version of the SP onto your Vista that you cant use the official release SP on your copy of Vista without a OS reinstall... is this true?

You'll need to uninstall the RC before installing SP1, but you shouldn't need to reinstall the whole OS.

mr sly is correct

but some rc's fail when uninstalling (and prevent sp1 from installing properly) hence the beta & rc names

Is there no way to get MS to send you an SP1 integrated copy for a small amount? Having proved purchase...

Dont worry. Soon enough it will be on the front cover of every PC magazine available (just like SP1 and 2 were with XP). Once you've got this you'll be able to slipstream I would imagine.

SP1 can't be slipstreamed, read the threads on the msfn forums..

If nuhi can't do it, then no-one can ;)

Hopefully, MS will distribute integrated DVD's to owners of Vista for a small fee.

Mmm, the joys of having an MSDN subscription ;)

To be honest I'd be surprised if a MS slipstreamed version didn't appear on a torrent site near you. I can't see why it would be illegal to download it either as when you buy windows you are buying the license, not the media so you can use any media version of that product.

Ok I won't ask then :)

But if that was possible as and you used vlite in integrate your drivers would you still need to integrate the hotfixes that are available for Vista 64 or would those be included with the Service Pack....?

I think you'll find it's patch Tuesday which means any Vista patches released tonight will not be in the SP1 CD. So again any future patches will not be on the CD

No sooner were you up-to-date, MS release more patches

Good stuff - I'm not bothered about future whatever I'm more concerned about the need, or not, to try and integrate previous hotfixes into the ISO.

Thanks for letting me know that they are not needed.
