Where I live, I live in one of the larger 'L' shaped houses on the estate. At the start of every winter when I turn the central heating back on, its often problematic. This year I've done some investigating and think I may have tracked down the issue - or at least close to it.
I have a Hive thermostat system with two zones - Living Room which controls the two radiators in that room, and Rest of House which controls all the other radiators and the hot water.
I've noticed the rest of house heating not coming on when it's meant to or when I boost the heating. I replaced the batteries in the thermostats and re-paired all the hive elements with the hub and everything is on in the app.
If I boost the heating in the living room to 28C (just for testing purposes) the radiators come on and heat up fine. If I do the same for rest of house, nothing happens - same for boosting the hot water. If I boost the living room and *then* boost the rest of house, the radiators all over the house get hot.
I suspected the Honeywell Actuator for rest of house so set it to manual and tried to boost rest of house standalone and it still didn't work. Pressing the heating button on the Hive receiver in the airing cupboard doesn't work either for rest of house, but does for living room.
Are there any heating engineers on the forum who can advise, am I right in suspecting the Honeywell 272848 and is it a reasonably easy fix?
Thanks!
