Quick one, I think.

Current boiler control looks like this:

Its a Bosch Worcester Greenstar 28i Junior....

The boiler control being as it is means that I have no thermostat, bar the ones on the radiators which are manual. That means that when it starts to get cold, I have to guess what temperature to set the radiators, and if we have a cold/warmer snap you have to keep readjusting. Last year when we were randomly waking up to -5 peak in the middle of the day that mean't a cold house, and then the following day when it was +5 it was waking up in an oven !

I can't imagine the situation is helping our gas bills, which last year were incredible !

I think, the solution, is one of these

Is it as simple as buy this, and then swap out the control panel on the boiler, and mount the thermostat in a sensible place in the house?

If I can't do this myself, is it likely that a gas fitter would want lol cash?

Need to know as I've asked the Landlord if we can get one fitted and I need to get her a rough price.

I have the earlier model 28i. The remote thermostat is good but i would not recommend the optimiser version.

I find with the optimiser it can delay start times with the boiler (for economy purposes in order to save fuel) which means I sometimes get up in the morning and the heating isn't on :( . Would so much prefer a basic timer version rather than the optimiser.

Bypass the inbuilt timer, or leave it in the ON position and get a Honeywell CMT927 fitted. ie receiver wired to the boiler, wireless stat controlling the heat in the house :)

I have just had a Worcester Greenstar boiler fitted but i opted for a remote thermostat to be fitted up front, but while looking into them it looks like its just a simple diy job to fit one
have a look at the pdf files, they tell you how to fit one

PS just take off the radiator thermostat in the room where the remote thermostat is kept and it will control the temp in that room and the rest will be controlled by each rad stat

You can also get wireless room thermostats that are similar to what you have linked to in the OP (Honeywell CM range springs to mind), may be cheaper and less hassle than the WB one.

Also your water pressure is a bit on the low side (have the same boiler) :)

Edit - I should really refresh the thread before posting, ive been beaten a few times now...

I have a Worcester Bosch boiler with that same control panel. It was literally a case of swapping the panel out and then the thermostat worked, although I got it done when the boiler was installed.

Recently bought the one you linked OP, cracking piece of kit and I wanted to keep everything the same brand rather than having cheap crap tacked on.

I also opted for Drayton TRV 4's on all rads (bar one in same room as digistat doodah.
Have these set independantly to balance heat in the rooms.

Also as above the pressure is looking a bit low.
I'd stick it upto ~1.5bar and monitor it.
