Anyone know about self adjusting clutches.

Fairly simple question for those in the know, does the following look like it needs winding back?

This is how it arrived packaged btw.

That looks like a new BMW clutch to me, as the friction plate wears those springs should open up.

It's an ST220 clutch. Never dealt with one before & i have concerns that the mechanism may have moved a bit in transit.

Yup that's fine. You can fit it as it is. You will need a special tool to reset it if you remove it again though

I ended up removing it again for peace of mind.

Bolted it to the old flywheel & then made a bit of a jig out of a 500mm threaded stud, some bolts and some big washers, wound it back to the stops with a screwdriver then fitted it again.

Happier now
