Hello,

I'm looking for a new good RPG that doesn't lead to boredom quickly.

I've played; WoW, Guildwars, Rift, Sacred 2, Oblivion, Warcraft III (If that counts), Medieval Conquest (Old game), Last Remnant and Dungeons and Dragons (When it first came out)

I want something that's new and good, It doesn't have to be a RPG but I prefer them. I've been playing Medieval Total War II over the past couple of days and it's quite good so don't mind any games like that.

Thanks :)

+ 1 for mass effect 1 and 2 they are both epic games and should keep you busy for a while.
Dragon age origins is also an epic game, you can prob find it cheap with all the dlc included, will keep you busy for a few weeks!
Shame i can't say same for dragon age 2 which was released recently.

Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2
Mass Effect 1 and 2
Dragon Age 1 (2 is no where near as good as one)
The Witcher
Fallout 3 and New Vegas if you want something a bit more post apocalyptic..

They are probably about the best ones recently. Which reminds me, I still need to finish NWN2!

I'm in the same boat as the OP, though I have played most recent RPGs. Have been considering buying BG from all the raving reviews on these boards, however I'm wondering if I should start from the first BG? Will the graphics be too out dated for me to properly get involved in seeing as I have been rather spoilt with aesthetics from the more recent games like Mass Effect, Dragon Age etc..

Personally I think it's pretty well made for an isometric perspective RPG.

It doesn't have to be new but most newish games have better game engines and graphic designs :)

But generally worse game design. That's the trade-off. Modern RPGs are very light on substance but can look amazingly pretty and come packed with voice-acting and other guff ;)

You still can't beat BG1/2 on the PC. Similarly in console land, the later FF games are crap compared to the earlier ones.

If you're going to get into Baldur's Gate, you *have* to start with #1. BG2 will make no sense at all if you don't!

Mount & Blade: Warband might be good for you there's a demo I think. Divinity II: DKS also has a demo but it's the very first areas so not representative.

The mount & blade demo is upto level 10 so that might give you an idea of the early game, it is unforgiving and I havn't played much since I got it.

Two Worlds II might be O.K. but the lack of a demo makes it a risky purchase given the bugs. Nehrim the mod for oblivion might be woth looking into or even morrowind if you don't mind teh graphics or doing some modding to improve them.
