Hi.
we had a builder put us a new roof on our conservatory.
this was a year ago and I have had multiple leaks. the builder came each time eventually but has been hard to contact (sometimes taking weeks of hounding to get back to me whilst we had leaks).
after a 5th leak I tried to message him yesterday and got no reply ... today I called and it was rejected so I left a negative review on rated people. his history was spotless before then. I am not vindictive and Indo not want to hurt his business. he just contacted me and said it has already had 2 people contact him asking what this is all about and has sworn he will sort it for me but will I update my review.
does anyone know if there is a limit to how many updates I can make. I am prepared to give him another shot and don't want to hurt small businesses but equally am at my wit's end on the whole thing. I don't want to update my review and then have no comeback later.
anyone had dealings with ratedpeople before.?
thanks.

Await his visit to fix the leak. Then alter the review to state he dealt with it, but was hard to contact.
Clearly your review has hurt his reputation, hence him contacting you.

I'd also personally have a different person in to review the roof for any issues, and present them to him when he visits.

We had to resort to this tactic when we had a building disaster. Eventually they were removed from mybuilder.com (long story). Very tricky situation but at the end of the day you’ve not had good work from them so your review is valid.

The roof they put on leaks. They did nothing to rectify the problem until you'd be chasing them for weeks. This has happened 5 times. It's still not up to par a year after being done. Then they blocked your phone number.

I think you're being very easy going about it. I also think they're taking you for a mug.

Now they want you to take down the justifiably negative review you left, in exchange for a meaningless promise that they'll fix what's wrong with the job they did a year ago. Probably. Some time. Maybe. Just like the last 5 times. Because they're taking you for a mug.

The time to update a review is when there's something to update. In this case, if they finally fixed the problem.

Im on My Builder as a tradesman.

Don't take many jobs from it but reputation is everything.

its very similar to Rated people where the client gives you a review.

A bad review is there for all to see, no hiding it and sometimes their can be multiple tradesman looking for that job.

A bad review will cost him work. But thats his problem, shoddy work deserves an honest review.

You are giving other people the chance to avoid what he did to you, thats not a bad thing.

Sounds fair to me.
You've had a nightmare dealing with him tbh.
I hope you get it sorted for good.

If he hasn't fixed it in the last four visits what makes you think the next time will be any different? Blocking my number would have been the last straw.

Is it a tricky job?

I had a flat roofer shyster basically con me out of 700 quid. He ended up replacing the entire roof and still did a crap job.
