I was running exchange server 2007 but after a major system crash we decided to go back to using 2003. I need to be able to recover one persons exchange account data (emails etc) from the old server files (still have hard drive) and import it into new exchange server... anyone know how I can do this?

I have a guy who provides me with remote server support but I need the info ASAP and he isn't available today!!!

Something like Ontrack Powercontrols should read the raw mailstore databases if they are in any kind of decent state and spit out whatever mail or mailboxes you need.

I've used it extensively in the past and can highly recommend it (if you can stomach the cost).

Ive not used exchange 2007 i assume its about the same as 2003 but with more features you wont use and it crashes a lot more and uses lots more server capacity... but 99% of the time it is possible to get *** store into a working state...

(im assuming itsthe same as 2003) eseutil is your friend, if you can make it complete a repair (/p) you should be able to get your server up again - however READ the errors and event log it may well fail over and over again for different reasons and if you dont read the messages properly you assume its saying the same thing and go round in circles.. (again assuming its the same as 2003) if you can get a eseutil repair run without bumming out half way keep at it as it is always possible (in my experience) to go on to get it up again.. ( you are not supposed to use a repaired database just extract the data)

gees i only repaired a server last week and im wondering if its /p or /r lol... anyway the eseutil help tells you whats what...
