I have currently got an 8Mb connection with UKOnline and am seriously considering upgrading to the 22Mb package. Now, according to the UKOnline website my line should be capable of up to 17.5Mb but just wondered if anyone who knew how snr and attenuation affected speeds. I have posted this as well in the UKOnline forum on adslguide to see what the opinion there is as well. Spomeone on there has said I seem to have a lot of noise on the line???

I had similiar stats to u and was qouted as being able to have 18.5mb this was unstable.......15mb.....unstable......12mb unstable........10mb stable.........

When i say unstable the speeds were all really fast when it worked but the router needed a reboot everyday due to errors on the line. I will try another router when i have the money.

Were you using the Netgear that they make you buy? A lot of people posting on adslguide who are using the Netgear seem to be having a lot of issues. It seems the Billion router that some people are using is a far better piece of kit

i was yes.....im aware the billion router is better but dont have/cant warrant another £100 on another router that "may" work
