SDRam, DDR, DDR2? It might make a difference if you clarify although I rather suspect you are out of luck without going for a server motherboard. If DDR2 you can get 2gb sticks fairly cheaply so I'd be a bit curious what you are doing that requires over 8gb Ram.

i preffer ddr2 cos its cheaper. but it doesnt matter, ecc will be ok too.
i want as much memory for ramdisk

Plenty of high end workstation grade boards have 8 slots, mainly look at Tyan.

Most do require S771 Xeon's however

I'm afraid I don't know of any offhand although someone else might, however as an alternative have you consider a Gigabyte iRam?

i thought about hyperdrive (iram) but that cost 2k for 16gigs.

solid state drives are slow at writing.
