The girlfriend has been repeatedly hinting that she wants lobster for valentines day. I don't like seafood much though so would have something else.

Anyone know of any decent restaurants in the Nottingham/Leicester areas? (I am currently in Loughborough).

Looking to spend about £100 for a decent meal with some drinks.

The best in that area is Sat Bains by a country mile but will cost more than that

Other Nottingham area suggestions

Harts, World Service, Tonic, Iberico, Tom Browns , all these will be around your budget if you don't go mad

going to move to the Cuisine forum as you get better answers there

As in the previous Nottingham restaurants thread, I'll recommend Antalya. Great food, great service.

That budget will suit a meal and a bottle of wine at Perkins Restaurant, in Plumtree just outside Nottingham. The food is amazing, and if you're driving yourself then there's no excuse not to.

Don't go to any of them on valentines day! stay in cook lobster yourself get massive brownie points and avoid the pain of dinner out on valentines day!

This. Cook in on the actual day, and go for dinner a few days before or afterwards. You'll pay inflated prices on the day, and you'll be rushed out of your seat. Eating out on Valentines day is a stupid idea.

We live 60 miles apart and can only see each other at weekends so the inflated prices aren't going to be a problem as we won't see each other on the 14th.

Also, I am a very poor cook :(.
