My wife is american and has a bachelors degree in science which means shes qualified in the USA to teach a few different subjects in high school. She is working in a school as a teaching assistant but would like to be able to be a supply teacher too.

The head master of the school has asked her to find some information stating that her degree is equivalent to the same in the UK. This would need to be on a official government website I would think or some sort of 3rd party which could confirm this and let it be valid in the UK.

Iv tried to search but only found a company that allows UK degrees to be valid in USA.

Would be a great help if anyone had any info or knows of someone that would do it.

As far as I am aware, regardless of her tertiary qualification, she will require some form of teaching qualification (or be working towards one) such as a PGCE to move forward into teaching in the UK. Even for teaching adults a PTLLS, CTLLS or DTLLS would be preferred.

perhaps its a private school

OP I'm not sure if this is of any use - but assuming it is an accredited university it should be recognised under the 'Lisbon Recognition Convention' AFAIK... you might have to do some searching

Just to throw a spanner into the works for you...

My wife did a degree in the UK, and did 6 months of her course at a University in the US. She did 2 modules there, and passed both of them with high marks (I can't remember exactly, but enough for distinction in the UK).

When it came to calculating her degree result, they wouldn't accept the modules from the US for grading purposes, and only as credits towards her degree.

That might be a very very specific isolated case that is irrelevant for your issue, but I'm sure I remember some comment about comparability of qualification quality and content.

I would imagine at the very least your wife will need to do some form of bridging course.
