So I've got this dark area on my U2711. Its been there for a while but I've been ignoring it, anyone know what it is?

I'm up for taking it apart but cant imagine how it would help. Am thinking about a 1080p 27" to tide me over until 4k is more realistic for me.

Could it be some sort of image retention from your wallpaper/a game/programme that you have open quite a lot?

I had thought that but always had the same wallpaper, which doesnt match, screen goes off after 10 mins. I've also seen the same straight line on the right on the dell support fourm but it was from 2008 and went nowhere.
