"General currency sign" is all I can find on it I'm afraid.

Edit: Another site says "International Currency Symbol - the international currency symbol is used internationally to refer to a country's currency when it is necessary to indicate the country unambiguously."

I'm trying to customise an invoice template that came with MS Office Accounting, but for some reason these symbols are dotted all over the document and I can't delete them.
