Anyone know whats wrong with my mic?

It just keeps on making sqweeling noises whenever i use it! below is a sample of me talking

any ideas on what this could be, or is it just the mic playing up?

Note that it takes a while for the sound to start 5secs or so.

Are you using the front panel connector?

If yes, try the rear connector and see if it's the same.

Nope using the rear connector but i will try the front now and see if it makes a diffrence

Is that from onboard sound? Almost soounds like RF interference you get on Analogue radio but why would you have RF interference on a digital sound device? Do you have a wireless dongle, PCI card, router or basically anything that uses RF to communicate nearby?

Try switching of all these sorts of devices and try again.

I used to have a headset that got interference from mobiles, it was the amplifier I believe that wasn't shielded properly.
