Shouldn't be a problem with the rules as I'm assuming that I can get these items from stores that wouldn't be considered a competitor to OcUK, but please don't mention shops that could be classed as competitors, ta :)

I'm looking for a high-street source of di-electric grease, and either neoprene/armaflex/other insulating foam sheet. Does anyone have any ideas?

Dont know if its what your looking for.

But if you use google to look for di-electric grease it comes up with some stuff. God knows if its what you actually want though.
 
Yeah, i've googled before. The first hit that goes to the overpriced high-street electronics store is not the correct stuff, I need it in a tube not a spray :(

I've heard a rumour that its used in the automotive electronics industry, so that means its possibly available in motor factors/car parts shops, can anyone confirm this?

Still no luck on a highstreet store for insulating foam sheeting though, anyone know if wicks/B&Q/homebase stock such items?
 
Dare I ask what the foam sheets are for? Cause theres that Akasa Paxmate stuff on this site...But I presume you need something a bit better and more insulating so to speak ;)
 
The akasa paxmate is sound insulation, not thermal insulation ;)

I'm prepping a motherboard for phasechange cooling :)
 
I've heard that vaseline can degrade and lose its properties with low temperatures though. For the sake of a few £ is it worth the risk?
 
Well, my cheap Vapo XEII arrived, the guy who owned it before me has treated it like a flipping punchbag, but after much swearing, cable tidying, and messing around i've got it looking in decent condition again.

Just need my armaflex to arrive and then I'm set. Although as soon as I can find a source to do so, I'll get it regassed with r507, and get the captube length tuned to a more healthy wattage :)
