Fortunately i have blinds mate, but they still leave me feeling a monitor hood would be worthwhile.

Get the design you want in cardboard first, make sure it works okay.

Could always get it done in sheet metal from somewhere then, e.g. local high school perhaps, car body shop etc.

Could also do it in perspex, and paint it. Many options.
