Anyone made the change: Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007

Hi guys,

We are have our new server arriving next week, and will be moving from our current Exchange 2003 system to Exchange 2007 on the new server.

Does anyone have any good guides / tips etc etc on the migration. We need it to be as seemless as possible!

Yes done it a couple of times for a few customers in my last job.

It's not that bad the only thing I found really annoying is that when I created some new accounts I had to do it through the Exchange System Manager rather than the AD (as the AD is from Windows 2003 and not 2008 as that's not out yet).

Other than that it's a lot easier and friendlier to use than Exchange 2003.

I did have to use an e-mail tool on a couple of accounts that we had problems with and then merge them back into exchange. I can't remember the name of the tool of the top of my head but I'm sure it'll come back to me.
