Anyone make heads or tails from this?

According to the thingy (no idea what it is) my cabinet is connected, as in i can now order fibre etc.
The estimated speeds seem slow, as in actually slower than my current normal broadband with the exception being upload where i might get my normal upload speed back.

Little picture for you to see, top one is from Zen where i was thinking of ordering and the bottom being the BTWholesale thing. Currently getting 10/0.6 from terrible terrible normal broadband (used to have 1.2 upload, forced to move to Sky and now slower! Thanks)

Is there anyone i can call, contact as to why everything seems ****?

Do you have your line stats to hand? (attenuation, SNR, etc.)

In some cases the FTTC stats have been a guess based on ADSL stats before anyone on the same cabinet is live sometimes wildly out.

Sometimes FTTC doesn't automatically mean 80/20. Quite often I've seen people get a cabinet upgraded and the speeds are only a meg or 2 better than DSL.

dont forget that the distance from the green cabinet to your house is the key bit in FTTC - people on the same cabinet as me but literally in the next street see a 20meg drop purely due to the extra length of cabling

Sounds like you are a fair distance from your green cabinet to get such slow speeds!

Still even if it was a fair bit longer than 600m it still should be possible to get atleast twice those speeds though you can never be sure it doesn't take some unexpected loop but given the ADSL speeds and stats it doesn't look like theres anything too unexpected in the line back to the exchange which reduces the chance of there being something abnormal with the bit from the cabinet to the house - atleast 40/10 on FTTC wouldn't look out of the question making some assumptions.

Errors aren't that suprising - 37db attentuation and 13+Mbit sync is going to leave you somewhat susceptible to line noise. Suprised the line hasn't managed itself down 1-2Mbit unless your using an SNR tweak.

*whooosh* :D
Can you think of any reason, or anyone i could speak to as to why my fiber estimate speeds are so low, or do you think i should just order Zen and find out first hand. I mean, they couldn't possibly be lower than i currently have, right?

The estimate can sometimes be a little over zealous.

I was estimated 40Mb, turns out I get 55Mb and have done for 4 months so far. :)
