Anyone make their own Pizza's?

Does anyone make their own pizza's from the dough up or get pre-done dough and just top it?

It sounds pretty straight forward but are there any pitfalls? You'd have to get the equivalent of a 'stone' to bake the pizza on but for the oven, what are these called?

I am a chef in an Italian restaurant so i make pizza every day. To make pizza is easy, to make good pizza, is something else.

What's your secret then?

I highly recommend onions and sweetcorn

Also, as a bit of a warning, tomatoe purée can be a bit harsh on a pizza. So I'd add olive oil, a dash of sugar and herbs.

Made a couple of pizzas last night, question about the pepperoni though, it has like a skin on it and even when cooked of was still tough?

The tomato sauce I make to base the pizza is a bit bland, it consists of onion, clove of garlic tinned tomato's, basil, oregano, salt and pepper but it's not really zinging.

What else could I add to it?
