Anyone Not Running Super Fast Systems??

Mines a humble Sempron 2800, 512RAM, Radeon 9600 job. It does what it needs (though on Mafia its not as fast as it could be, RAM update mabye?). Two and a half years old I guess, only recently "upgraded" but just to make it quiet.

I have a XP2500 - M @ 2400 with 1GB Ram and a GF6800LE @ 360/800, quite happy with it atm, does everything I need.

3000+, x800xl, 1gb ram
Does everything I need as I don't really play many games anymore.
Might upgrade one day :)

athlon xp3200
Asus asn8x-x
Radeon 9800 pro
1GB Corsair PC3200

i really want to upgrade but this system does what I want, i can afford a dual core but keep having second thoughts on if to buy a new system or not. anybody think I should upgrade??

nah, becuase to upgrade you'll have to buy a complete new system to make it worthwhile.. and that'll cost around £650 upwards to get anything even remotely futureproof. lol.

thats my predicament too... i'll only upgrade when this actually becomes pointless to own.

I gave up PC gaming last year and since then I haven't upgraded my PC. If anything, I've downgraded/down sized. My system is now:

Shuttle SB65G2
3Ghz P4 Northwood (Done 3.7Ghz easily in my last setup)
1GB OCZ PC3500 EB RAM running at 200mhz and tight timings
250GB Maxtor MaxLine III SATA
A mighty Nvidia 6200 Graphics card :p :D
Terratec DMX 6 Fire LT Sound card
All connected to a Dell 2005FPW

As the only thing I do is surf, email, work, music, Dvd's etc, this spec is more than enough for my needs. Switching to consoles for my gaming needs has saved me money and headaches as I was forever 'upgrading', tweaking, overclocking etc.

Running a XP 64 3500 Winny w/ 2gb geil PC3200 value & Radeon X850 XT 256MB, i wanna upgrade again thought i'm not sure why, it handles all i do (apart from the struggle with flight simulator X but i can't justify the upgrade just for prettiness in one game) Just bought a 20" widescreen monitor and things are lookin good for me, i think 300GB & 80GB hdd's in there :)

lol...

I'm pretty sure i win :p

AMD Athlon (TM)XP 2000+ @ 1.2 gHz
40GB hard drive
512MB RAM
Geforce FX 5500, 128MB

Yes i'm a gamer, minimum settings 800x600 and i get fps consistenly under 40 The most annoying this is it the FPS is never constant, its always changing.

sapphire pure element mobo
1GB cheap Kingston ultra value RAM
AMD 3500+ Venice core (very slightly overclocked, would overclock more but a combination of memory and mobo stop me)
and until about a month ago i was using x300 onboard graphics, then i bought an x1900xt 256, basically because i was sick of playing games at super LOW settings :D

edit: oh, and about 240GB HDD space (altogether (80GB IDE for windows and programs and 160GB SSM SATA II for storage of videos, music etc))

got a 386 running windows 2, but thats not 100% working (have to re solder a resistor on the motherboard at some point).

have a mini ITX VIA Epia system here I use to demo to clients and for email/internet stuff when I'm out at about (its case is v small and can be carried anywhere)

how come your 2000+ is underclocked so much? The FSB should be 133 not 100MHz

;)

Your not alone. I sit here with my P4 2.4. 6600 AGP. Works like a treat and does everything i need it to at a speed im happy with.

Just running a p4 2.4ghz, 1gb ram and 6800le here. Does what I need :) I only really play WoW and CS1.6 now so don't need anything beefy, other than that, it's not like Word or MS Project need much :p

Could you lot (not running super PC's)ever justify the cost of some of the recent components?

To me it seems madness.
Oh it is total madness, the ~£500 8800 is joke. But then there are plenty of people who get off on this stuff - each to his own I guess.

I'm running a 3 year old P4 [email protected], 1GB, 9800PRO ~800GB but I will be getting a modist Core 2 Duo system in the new year.
