Hi all ive been dithering a bit now over 3 monitors..2 IPS ones and this TN MG278Q ROG,any owners out there with any advice on this particular monitor? i cant find many reviews esp here on OCUK..all seem to be for the MG279Q IPS version,thank you for any advice

Hi Petelock,yep I'm asking about the MG278Q...not the PG278Q,I've got a R9 390,surely someone here has got the MG278Q? and if so how does it compare to the IPS MG279Q..regarding colour,contrast etc.Im mostly a game player but not competitively,after reading reviews and comments on the IPS MG279Q version regarding pixel issues and backlight bleed I'm looking at this TN version..Much appreciated if anyone can advise..Thanks
I have an MG279Q and love it, not seen the TN version so can't comment on that, but if you haven't seen this video it may help. I remember it from when I was wondering which to buy:

Whilst I have the g-sync brother TN panel, I guess they are comparable in terms of performance. I game mostly with mine although do break the cardinal sin for a TN panel and also photo edit on it.
Given that I always sit straight on and have the monitor optimally angled and positioned, I have no problems with the TN screen and vertical colour fluctuations. My panel has no dead pixels and no bleed, so I'm happy with it. Not looked on the ocuk store page (being super lazy and responding on the iPad), but if the price difference between the two is a fair bit then you may want to consider the TN version.

Thanks Petelock..yep the video above shows your monitor in comparison with the IPS Freesync MG279Q i have to say that i think your spot on with your sentiments...Why is purchasing a new monitor so bloody Hard
