Anyone on here own a 955BE/965BE with 8gb ram

Not the answer you want, I use a 955 and 4gigs ddr3 all at stock settings. I not come across one game that has required me to overclock my CPU.

I'm getting more goodness from crysis with the overclock i stopped seeing in game differences at 3.6GHZ but i went on for 3.8GHZ

Was thinking of getting win7 64bit and another 4 gig of ram(someone told me win 7 64 uses quite a lot of ram sometimes and there is no workaround for it???

Think that's W7 64bit can use more ram than 32bit, which is limited due to the 32bit memory addressing to 3.8gigs approximately.

PC has been switched on for around 36hours solid now, playing games, unraring some large files and browsing

dont think 8gb is really necessary

ok maybe i'm just paranoid seen a lot of threads lately where win 7 64 is addressing a whole load of ram as reserved and in use and no one seems to have figured it out properly.

so hit list time

win7 64 bit
SSD
another 5770
(maybe another 4 gb ram)

WHY CAN'T CHRISTMAS BE IN FEBUARY LOL

I'm running 8GB with a 955 on W7 64. Got 3.7GHz easily (with DDR2 by the way), can't really be arsed to overclock any more than that - it's not really necessary.

W7 64 is not a resource hog (Windows Media player open and playing, Firefox open with 2 tabs, and usual programs in background):
