Just read that if your on NTL 4mb and phone them up you can try 10mb for 1 month for the same price, and after the month just change back to 4MB with no charge.

Just thought Id post in case anyone wants to give 10meg a bash for a month.

You could try for more.

I am just coming to the end of three months were they moved me up from 4mb to 10mb and dropped the price to £17.99. Ive heard of others getting 9 months.

I'm going to tell them, I'm not going to move down in speed and pay more, when I can get a good deal from talk talk or whoever, leave me on 10mb for £17.99 or cut me off.

The thing is they have already discounted so many people, when confronted with it they have a hard time saying no, especially when other deals look better (at least on paper).

It's usually only offered if you threaten to cancel and they put you through to retentions. I was lucky to get offered the TalkTalk price-matching for three months (the longest they can put on their system for deals despite them saying it lasts for 12) a few months ago but the deal ended so I phoned them up again and got 10Mb instead of the Talk Unlimited plan.

Just beware though that sometimes if you threaten to cancel they will accept it and arrange a modem pick-up date. ;)

If that happens just phone up a couple of days before they are due to come and tell them you have changed your mind and want to stay with them.
