If so what router are you using? I want to upgrade my router to a faster (more than 54mbs) one.

Do they exist for use on Sky?

I use my own one for a while with sky - no issues. Just back to using the sky one for now as i've moved house and it's currently training the line (DLM)

It it's a black sagem router - it's a doodle to find your username and password.

I used it with a wireless N router no issues at all.

I am shortly hopping over to Sky from Virgin (brill HD deal atm !!) and will be getting some sort of wireless router from them......thing is, I currently have a nice D-Link DIR-655 heading up my network, so would prefer keeping this as router.....can the freebie Sky model simply be used as a modem and pass thru ?

I currentley use my Belkin MIMO Router as a access point now as the wireless router given to me from sky is not very good.

what are the benifits of using your own router rather than the free one from sky ?

How easy is/would it be for Sky to actually check you weren't using their router out of curiosity?

Well Ive just ordered a Linksys WAG160N so if it is against their T&C's...tough.

Should have given me a Wireless-N router in the first place...:D

Yeah just found what I think is the relevant clause:-

"3. The Wireless Router "
"(d) Sky Broadband must only be accessed via your Wireless Router. Your Wireless Router is not supplied as being capable of being used to access any other Internet service."

It is a bit strange :o
