hey guys,

been to my local PC store yesterday just for a look around and noticed they have a few NZXT HUE LED controllers in there, same price as Ocuk btw

anyway, my question is, are they any good? i will be using it in my rig upgrade that consists of a 450D, silverstone black/red cable extensions.

have you had any problems with it and is there anything you wished it had or could do better?

cheers :)

Hi,

Used one for a couple of years now, no problems (except forget which control is which at times).

A tip when installing make sure to clean the area where you want to attach the led strip, to ensure good adhesion.

Enjoy.

Im a little worried that the LED strip will be abit long for a mid tower case, can i just cut the strip to the length i need?

Thanks

I moved from a couple of Bitfenix Alchemy LED strips (when they both broke) to an NZXT HUE. I love that you can change the colour to anything you want, or set it to change itself. I would say though that because of the distance between the LEDs, it's definitely mood lighting rather than actual illumination - even on the brightest white it'll go it still doesn't provide anywhere near the illumination of the Bitfenix. It's also VERY long, so where I was concerned it wouldn't do a full loop of my RV03, it actually ended up doing a loop and a quarter of it.

In the end, I've gone for the HUE around the whole case, and a separate small, bright, cheap white LED strip attached to a switch that is accessible from outside the case. This way I can have the lights off, just the HUE to provide ambience, and/or the white LEDs to actually illuminate the components in the case, depending on the situation. :)

Good product, but definitely more to light up your case rather than show off the components within it.

Good description, Stu. My feelings about it exactly (and same experience of a loop and a quarter with the led strip, in a Carbide 540 Air).

I like the extra, brighter white LED idea, to complement or be an alternative to the Hue.
