Hi there everyone.

Just a quick query about the above gfx card. I have had mine now for about 2 months and cannot overclock it 1MHz on either memory or gpu.

When using CCC to automatically increase the clock speeds (apparently Ati tool doesnt support the 1950Pro) the screen has a strobe effect happening. CCC doesnt detect this strobing as an error so carries on increasing the clock speeds.

i am using the stock cooler that came with the card and in CCC, the overdrive tool detects the gpu temp as 45 degrees.

Would be nice for a bit of an overclock.

Thanks in advance

Yes I can't seem to clock my memory or gpu on my X1950 Pro, if I do attempt it even by 1mhz, it starts to lock up in 3Dmark, most odd, if it can be done, I'd like to know how.

I havent actually tried to run any programs with it overclocked due to flickering being so bad, but no doubt it would do what yours does and lock up.

Are you using the stock cooler too?

Overclocking on this card just isn't happening. I have tried ati tray tools, ati tools, rivatuner and others and nothing works. I can get it up by about 10mhz on core and memory and then it just crashes. Bit annoying really.

Is a little bit annoying i agree, though i suppose it would have been too good to be true being that it is a very good runner at a very reasonable price.

Reminds me when i bought my old 9800se for £120 and it could be soft modded to 9800pro speeds, saving me about £80.

I only have the 256MB version as only have a 17" TFT so can only play up to 1280x1024, and it runs pretty much everything with full detail, bar a bit of AA and ASF.

I had the same problem. However the beta version of ati tray works (well sort of). I can increase the GPU but not the memory. If i try to increase the memory with any tool my pc crashes.

Cant seem to get on the forums to get a link atm but go here and search the ATI Tray Tools Official WEB Forums on Guru3D for the beta version. I am using v1.3.6.1031 atm

Hope this helps
