Anyone own a Lian Li V1010?

Cheers for the replies.

So, no one has one here?

I have one, opened a thread here:

It's a great case but if you have too many hard drives (like me), HDD vibration can cause it to hum. Best way to fix it is either to mount your hard drives using elastic suspension (http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8240) or get one or two tera HDDs.

All stock 120mm fans have been replaced with Scythe Kaze Jyuni 1900RPM Slip Stream and I also fitted a Scythe Kama bay for upper front intake as it can get quite hot in the upper chamber.

Apart from that I love this case, built quality is fantastic, has tons of space and those wheels!

Trust me, it looks a million times better than those pictures, the flash completely ruined it :(

With HDDs it's always better to avoid heavier vibrating rollers.
You could add heavier sound dampening mat like BeQuiet to bigger surfaces inside case. (that light and thin Akasa won't work in any way)

Toucam, thanks for the info. I already have the case, just gotta travel to pick it up which I won't be able to do for at least a couple of weeks.

I love how it looks. I especially love the silver one (even though some here don't like it -- they have no taste), but black is ace too. I can't wait to get it now. I'll probably stick my Kama-Bay cooler in there too, although it's black (maybe I'll paint it). With a Noctua P-12 fan it'll be good enough to get a little airflow into the front and also very quiet.

I got one of these a couple of weeks ago, it really is a great looking case, but the vibrating noise from the HDDs does get annoying.

The Kama Bays don't fit very well, there is a 2 or 3mm gap all around it. Lian-Li are making cooling unit like the Kama called the BZ-502, can't seem to find them anywhere though.

I noticed when I pressed my fingers on top of the case there was no hum so I have left a book on top of it, that does it, no more hum :D That's the quickest way to fix it, I'm lazy and can't be bothered to remount my HDD ;)

The Kama Bay doesn't fit proper but as long as it does the job I'm not too fussy about the gaps, I hardly look at the front of my case anyway :p
I ripped out the dust filter, replaced the rubbish stock fan 800 RPM with some Scythe 1900RPM on fan controller and the case is frozen now.

Good stuff. ^^

The Kama-Bay cooler doesn't fit the Wave Master very well either. There's that 2-3mm gap all round, but the cooler has definitely helped. Only thing is the WM has a door! I leave it slightly ajar and this brings down CPU temps by about 3 degrees, and that's with the rubbish Scythe fan. Actually, it's not rubbish exactly, it's silent, but airflow is very weak. Again, I'll most likely replace it with a Noctua P-12 at some point soon. On the other hand, I might just look into the Lian Li cooling unit mentioned above.

My solution to the door problem is to drill lots half inch holes down each side. This way it should get enough air but I won't ruin the look of the case by either taking it off completely or drilling holes in obvious places where they can be seen from the front.

Anyway, that's all out the window since I'll be getting the Lian Li soon. Woo hoo! 4 years I've put up with bad airflow. I think I'll be much happier with the V1010.

Thanks for the posts, fellas.
